We are gathering again for the 26th Annual Reunion of the Fall Ozark Sufi Camp, October 10 - 14, 2008, in beautiful Lake of the Ozarks State Park, Missouri.

We'll journey together deeper into music - the music all around us, the music within us, the music of our lives. Guided by Murshida Nuria Sabato. Murshid Allaudin Ottinger, Shaikha Hakima Greentree and many wonderful musicians & teachers, and by the teachings & practices of Sufi Master Hazrat Inayat Khan on the Mysticism of Sound - harmony, rhythm and the power of music in healing and spiritual development.

(Maybe even the 'Sufettes' can be enticed to entertain us with their spiritual girl-group doo-wop!)
There will be musicians galore & lots of singing & dancing & a bazaar to browse through.
We'll stay in our usual dormitory-style cabins set in the beautiful woodland.

I have a vision of a peaceful, meditative camp. The magical sound of the tambura setting the tone (Hamza's bamboo tambura made by Shabda years ago). I'd like to invite participants to practice listening, tuning in to nature's sounds, to their own voices, and to the simple acoustic music we'll create.
At the twice daily all-camp classes there'll be Dances, along with various offerings such as teachings, practices, wazifa, movement, singing, poetry, short readings. Nuria will share Inayat Khan teachings & practices. Allaudin - practices / wazifas, Habiba - Qigong movements & turning, Mudita - wazifa practice, MaryAngela - free-form sacred dance movements, to name a few.
Participants are invited to bring musical instruments - string or wind, small drums or other percussion, & especially meditative instruments like bells, chimes, singing bowls. We plan on Sunday afternoon to create a great heavenly orchestra! Voices are free to join in, and Mary Angela will direct a free-form sacred dance, for those who want to use bodies as instruments!
